Students must possess a bachelor's degree (180 ECTS).

Since the study concept is postgraduate training, it requires at least one year of practical experience working in the area of study, e.g. church ministry. The requirements are in place for an entry supported by professional training. 

This has to be confirmed in the application process in the form of a written reference by an On-site Mentor or Supervisor.

German law (§58, paragraph 2, subpoints 5 & 6 of the Landeshochschulgesetz) makes provision in certain cases that students may engage in postgraduate training by completing an entrance examination rather than possessing a bachelor's degree.
