Vision & Mission

Our goal is to equip people from all over the world to fulfill the Great Commission and to provide them with the practical tools needed in their respective field so that they can effectively serve in leadership roles in churches, missions, and society.

This involves a holistic learning process on three levels: knowing, being, and doing.

  • Classroom lectures and learning activities encourage academic reflection and dialogue. (Knowing)
  • Life in the spiritual community emphasizes social, spiritual, and character formation. (Being)
  • Practicums and internships help to integrate learned material and personal development through practically engaging in real-life ministry situations. (Doing)

Accreditation

The European Theological Seminary (ETS) is approved by the Ministry of Education in the State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, as a technical college (Fachschule) for training church workers and for the purpose of German financial aid (BAföG). The program of studies is designed to provide academically based yet practically oriented theological training in keeping with §3, Section 1 FHG of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The European Bible Seminary (now ETS) was a founding member of the European Pentecostal Theological Association (EPTA) and a member of the European Student Mission Association (ESMA) as well as the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE, formerly EEAA), which does not award formal academic degrees but certifies comparability of the education level.

The European Theological Seminary holds institutional accreditation from the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE) as an alternative provider of higher education (most recently reaccredited in 2021), along with program accreditation at EQF Level 6 for the Advanced Certificate in Christian Ministries, which can be attained through various fields of emphasis. ECTE accreditation of alternative providers indicates that the learning opportunities offered by ETS are compliant with the European Standards and Guidelines for higher education and attests to the level of the learning opportunities according to the QF-EHEA. Further information can be found here.

ETS offers master’s degrees (EQF Level 7), accredited by Evalag in Germany, in cooperation with Lee University (Cleveland, TN, USA).  Lee University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master, education specialist, and doctoral degrees. Questions about the accreditation of Lee University may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling +1 (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website, sacscoc.org.

Coin laundry facilities are available on campus.

The tuition fee covers all prescribed and elective courses during the semester or the school year. Special fees for applied music courses, such as instrumental and vocal instruction, are not included in the regular tuition fee. (Second- and third-year students with a declared emphasis in church music are exempt from these additional fees, since the courses are mandatory for their area of study.) Students who are not living in the school dormitory are charged only tuition, internship and library fees.

All full-time students are required to have health insurance coverage and a personal liability insurance policy. A written verification of current coverage is to be presented to the seminary at the beginning of each school year.

The cost of insurance is to be assumed by the student unless he/she is covered through a family policy of his/her parents. Disability or pension contributions can be maintained without paying premiums during a student’s full-time enrollment at the seminary.
